Think of a router like a speaker. You could be playing music very loudly at the front of the house, but the sound at the back of the house is much fainter. Your wifi router works the same way - you can only move so far from it before the signal starts to wane, or cuts outs out completely. However, if you installed a speaker in every room, the sound would be the same throughout the property. Meshed wifi works in the same way.

The term "meshed network" in itself implies that each component of your network is working together. Meshed wifi works with your building design, rather than against it".

Meshed wifi is effectively a network made up of your router, cable points and AP's (access points), which are all configured identically so that you can move around your property without ever being disconnected from your network. This works in a manner similiar to cell phone towers while driving in your car. You are automatically handed over from one cell tower to the next, without you even knowing it.

As all houses, apartments and offices have different physical configuration layouts (and potential problem wifi areas), we custom design a meshed wifi network for your particular space.

There are also many other factors that could influence your wifi signal:

  • Your Neighbour's network
  • Seperate networks in your own home
  • Bluetooth
  • Baby monitors
  • Radio's
  • Mivrowave ovens
  • Concrete and masonary walls
  • Mesh wire in your walls
  • Metal and under-floor heating
  • Water in larger quantities (large aquarium's, etc)
  • TV's
  • Cordless phones
  • Walkie Talkie's

Q.  My device can “see” the wifi network, but can’t connect?

A: 1. Try “forgetting” the network on your device, and re-connecting.
2. Turn your wifi off and back on.
3. Reboot your router and/or device

Some client roaming apps on your phone may interfere with connectivity.

Q. My device can’t “see” the wifi network

A: Phones have less powerful wifi cards than a laptop for instance. Firstly ensure that your device wifi is turned on. Also move closer to the router or wifi access point.

Q.  My device randomly disconnects from the network.

A: You may be on the wifi range-border. Move closer to the router / access point.
Your wifi card could be damaged. Try another device to connect with (eg laptop).
